YOUR ADVENTURE: part 14

You're secretly a bit of a clever clogs and remember that kettles make noise so you find a small pan, fill it with water and pop it on the hob on a low heat. It takes a while but you’re confident that this is the right way to do things.

When it finally boils you quietly pour the water into a large mug and wait the appropriate 3 minutes to let the herbal tea inside diffuse fully. Satisfied that you’ve made a mean tea, you stalk back into the room with the dragon and have a think about how best to approach this.

‘Hmmmm, hummmm, hmmmm’ you think... 

Yes that’ll work! You clear your throat and, in the best mummy dragon voice you can muster, whisper in the dragon's ear:

‘Hey there sleepyhead, time to get up. The sun's up and there’s work to be doing. I made you a tea so open up!’. You pause…

Without opening its eyes the dragon slowly opens its mouth. You walk over and lob the tea inside... and now you wait. The dragon gulps and pauses for a moment before it’s large tongue appears and it licks its lips. Then like a cat it slowly stands up and stretches. A thought comes to you.

‘I’ll meet you over on the mountain top!’. Palms sweating and legs shaking, you hope it’s worked.

‘Alright then mum see you there’ it says in a surprisingly squeaky voice.

With two flaps of its wings and without ever opening its eyes it breaks through the ceiling and flies off into the distance.

‘Well, well, well it only bloomin worked!’ you say as you do a little jig.

Suddenly, with a feeling very much like that of stubbing one's toe, with a big whoosh all your memories come back to you! It seems you are a powerful magician who's task it was to banish the dragon from its lair! It seems you’re so good at what you do even that, even with severe amnesia, you are able to get the job done! Well done you! And you keep on dancing until some random fellow walks by and you stop out of embarrassment. You celebrate with the locals for the rest of the night!
