YOUR ADVENTURE: part 12

With your memory back you are feeling confident enough to enter the dragon’s lair. You're not quite 100% how you’ll remove the dragon but you’re sure you’ll think of it in time. Your assistant leads you to the room in which the dragon waits.

‘Watch out for the bats!’ your assistant says as they shine their torch at the ceiling.

‘Thank you erm... do you know I’ve actually forgotten your name?!’ you say, embarrassed.

 ‘What? How could you forget my name? Well it's...'

ASSISTANT STATES THEIR NAME... in an annoyed manner

‘Ah yes of course it is! You have a face to match’ you say, trying to recover. 

‘Right in you go then!’ says your assistant. They shove you into a large room and before you can say anything you hear the door lock behind you. In front of you sleeps a large dragon, at least ten times the size of you! You see it has made its new home in the treasure room and off to the side is a... neat little kitchen. Well who'd have known.

Now what to do... you think and ponder. You ponder and think. If you were a dragon what would scare you away? A smelly fart? No. Loud music? No. You stand in silence thinking, trying to search your memory when like a lightbulb you it comes back to you! The plan you so carefully crafted shoots into your noggin! Calling upon your inner magic you cast a spell upon yourself... it went like this:

‘Gribbily grummily make my voice sound Mummerly!’ Well chanted! Perhaps a little grammatically innaccurate but you know magic is very forgiving. One more spell...

 

‘Snip snap snoud, make me loud!’ You feel the magic take effect! Now, being careful not to make a sound until you're completely ready, you brace yourself. You take a deep breath in and get ready tp do your best mum impression ever!

 You open your mouth and, in a mummy dragon voice, you blast:

‘OI! NEVILLE!’

For that, you remember, is the dragon's name.

 

‘OI! NEVILLE YOU LAZY HERBERT! GET YOUR BUM OUT OF BED, YOU’VE BEEN SLEEPING ALL WEEK AND THERE’S MANY CHORES TO DO! COME ON ELSE NO YUMMY FOOD FOR A MONTH, JUST CELERY STICKS!!!’

very well done you thoroughly convinced that dragon.

It wakes up in a panic looking left and right and, upon hearing your threat of celery sticks (which are a dragons least favourite food), it unfurls its wings, takes two mighty flaps and breaks through the ceiling and off into the sky. All you hear is a squeaky dragon voice say:

‘Sorry mum I was just resting my eyes, waaah!' 

Well done you! You got your memory back and rid the land of a dragon. Quite the adventure. You don’t worry too much about the massive hole in the ceiling, that’s someone else’s problem. You are to be treated like the hero you are. CONGRATULATIONS!
